A watermain break on the campus of The University of Western Ontario, discovered in the early hours of Sunday, is affecting water supply at Talbot College and the Music Building. Water pressure in those buildings will be low all day Sunday, and will be totally shut off for at least six hours on Monday.
With exams scheduled for Monday in Talbot College, students are advised to keep an eye on Western’s homepage for updates later today, as officials consider whether schedule changes are necessary.
The low water pressure in the building today means toilets may be slow to refill after flushing.
On Monday morning, when crews have made arrangements with appropriate services such as Union Gas, digging on the pipe will begin, likely getting under way between 10 a.m. and noon. The work to repair the line is expected to take at least six hours. During this time, no water will be available in the two buildings.
