The annual Teachers’ Wall of Fame gives appreciative students the opportunity to say thank you by nominating a teacher who made a powerful impression as an exceptional educator.
Sponsored by the Faculty of Education at The University of Western Ontario and the London Public Library, the Teachers’ Wall of Fame recognizes two teachers annually (primary or secondary school) who are retired or nearing retirement and who spent their teaching career in the London Middlesex district.
The Teachers’ Wall of Fame was initiated in 2005 to coincide with World Teachers’ Day, celebrated annually on Oct. 5.
The 2010 recipients will be chosen from nominations received by May 31, and from the group of teachers who were nominated during the 2009 competition. The induction will be held at the Faculty of Education on or near Oct. 5.
To nominate someone, write an essay of no more than 750 words outlining the talents and gifts of the nominated teacher, explaining why that special teacher should join the other outstanding educators who have been inducted to the Teachers’ Wall of Fame.
Full details of the criteria for nomination are at edu.uwo.ca/teacherswalloffame.
