Honorary degree recipients at The University of Western Ontario’s 295th convocation ceremony (June 14-18) will include a former prime minister, a playwright and a bank executive, among seven other distinguished individuals.
The first of 10 ceremonies gets underway Monday, when the largest number of graduates in one day – more than 1,500 – cross the stage at Alumni Hall. More than 6,400 students will graduate by week’s end.

3:30 p.m. – Aboriginal leader Phil Fontaine
Wednesday
10 a.m. – Humanitarian Samantha Nutt
3:30 p.m. Chemical Engineer Alice Gast
Thursday
10 a.m. – Former London Mayor Jane Bigelow
3:30 p.m. – Physician Jim Silcox
Friday
10 a.m. – Former Prime Minister Paul Martin
3:30 p.m. – Businessman Arkadi Kuhlmann
