Former Social Science professor James Teevan died Sept. 7 in London at the age of 67. He had 30 years of service at Western before retiring in 2001.
Teevan is survived by his wife Bonnie of 44 years, daughter Elizabeth, son Nicholas and his wife Lauren, and grandchildren Benjamin and Ruby-Kate. He also leaves to mourn his mother Veronica Teevan, his sisters Veronica Russo, Patricia Duquette, Dorothy Doyle, and Virginia Kaufmann, and his brother Ronald.
Teevan received his PhD from Indiana University in 1968 and, after a first position at the University of Maryland, became a Sociology professor at Western, where he also served as Associate Dean of Social Sciences and Director of Research.
