The Western Mustangs will host the 36th annual Western International Cross Country Invitational this Saturday, Sept. 25 with the women’s 5km race starting at 10 a.m. and the men’s 10km race following at 10:50 a.m.
The meet will be held at the Thames Valley Golf Course in London; it is the 25th year that the race has been hosted at this location.
Fifteen teams will compete in the race, including five in both the men’s and women’s race that were ranked in the CIS preseason Top 10.
Western received the fifth seed in the women’s division and is coming off a first-place finish at the McGill Open last weekend, edging the host Martletts with a one-point win.
Western’s men’s team is seeded fifth and Kyle O’Neill, of Vienna, Ont., and Brent Smith will look to lead the way for the Mustangs after cruising to an overall first place finish at the McGill Open last week.
