Sites of interest on The University of Western Ontario campus are on the map for Doors Open London, Sept. 18-19.
The 9th annual open house event features unique locations across the city to help promote the diversity of London and celebrate local heritage.

Local residents and visitors are encouraged to check out the following Western locations on the tour:
Brescia University College, Canada’s premier women’s university, will be open for guided or individual tours Saturday, Sept. 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. No tours will be held on Sunday. Visitors are encouraged to walk the grounds and meet the Ursuline Sisters, who founded Brescia in 1919.
Visit the Collegiate Chapel of St. John the Evangelist at Huron University College on Saturday, Sept. 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is not open on Sunday, Sept. 19. Check out how Huron has progressed since its founding in 1863 through tours offered through Huron’s classrooms, amphitheatres, Great Hall, Kingsmill Room and the Student Activity Centre.
The McIntosh Gallery opens its red doors Saturday, Sept. 18 and Sunday, Sept. 19 noon to 4 p.m. Masters of Fine Art candidates Kelly O’Dette and John Cushnie present the culmination of their graduate studies. Walking across the campus visitors can see its numerous outdoor sculptures. Guided tours of the gallery and outdoor public art begin at 2 p.m. each day.
The home of Western’s president, Amit Chakma, Gibbons Lodge will be open for tours on Sunday, Sept. 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The official residence of the president, Gibbons’ history connects the university to the early years of the City of London.
A unique Canadian museum dedicated to the study, display and interpretation of human occupation of Southwestern Ontario over the past 11,000 years, the Museum of Ontario Archeology will be open Saturday, Sept. 18 and Sunday, Sept. 19 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Take part in the annual Native Harvest Festival, held on the prehistoric village site adjacent to the museum, featuring First Nations performers and artists and a pow wow.
