The 14th International Conference on Methods in Dialectology returns to The University of Western Ontario this week, Aug. 2-6. The event is jointly hosted by the French Studies Department and the Linguistics Program in Western’s Faculty of Arts and Humanities.
This international meeting of scholars in the fields of language variation and dialect studies is held every three years, alternating between Canada and Europe. The last time it was held at Western was in 1978. This meeting brings together European, North American and Asian scholars, and for the first time, scholars of Malagasy and First Nations dialects.
Keynote talks are open and the public is welcome.
