I enjoyed the news item today on CBC radio about how humour lends insight into vegetative state with University of Western Ontario neuroscientist Adrian Owen (“No laughing matter,” July 2011). As I was studying tonight, I came across a quote I thought fit beautifully with this study:
“The art of medicine consists of amusing the patient while nature cures the disease.” – Voltaire
I hope you will pass this on to Adrian, and I wish him all success in this research.
