Former Tim Hortons CEO Don Schroeder will address the Faculty of Law 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1 in the Moot Court Room of the Law Building as part of the school’s Distinguished Speaker Series. Schroeder, a 1969 Western Law graduate, will deliver a lecture titled, Brewing Up Success.
Schroeder served as CEO from March 2008 to May 2011, when he stepped down after two decades with the company. He served the company as president of the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation, as well as general counsel, among other executive positions. Schroeder has been involved with the company since the 1970s, as a lawyer for a number of franchisees and a franchisee himself.
He continues his association with Tim Hortons as a consultant to the THI Board of Directors for its sustainable farming partnership with coffee farmers in Central and South America and as a director on the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation Board.
Tim Hortons is Canada’s biggest restaurant chain and the fourth biggest in North America with nearly 3,800 restaurants.
“If Norman Rockwell were alive today and painting in Canada, he would paint inside a Tim Hortons store,” Schroeder says.
