Local leaders from a variety of industries gathered at the Richard Ivey School of Business’s new building on June 11 for a session of the Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference(GGCLC). Carol Stephenson, Ivey dean, hosted the event, which included a panel session with Western President Amit Chakma; Dr. Gillian Kernaghan, president and CEO of St. Joseph’s Hospital; and Gord Hume, former City of London controller and president of Hume Communications.
There was also a reception with GGCLC members and delegates. The GGCLC sessions, which were held at various locations across Canada, explore the relationships between leadership and community.
Prior to the event, Stephenson also received a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal at a reception at Museum London. The medals were created to mark the 2012 celebrations of the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the Throne and were given to 60,000 Canadians to recognize their contributions to Canada.
