The Joint Pension Board has TWO full-term positions open: ONE on the Academic Pension Board and ONE on the Administrative Pension Board. There is also one partial term position available on the Administrative Pension Board. All active contributing members of The University of Western Ontario pension plan are eligible to stand for election on their respective boards. Full term positions begin July 1, 2013; however successful candidates are invited to attend all Joint Pension Board Meetings as guests until this time. Individuals must be able to serve until June 30, 2017. The partial term position is scheduled to serve until June 30, 2016.
The Academic and Administrative Boards are sub-committees of the Board of Governors and have been delegated the responsibility of ensuring the pension plans are administered in accordance with current legislation and policies. Many professionals including internal professional staff, investment managers, auditors, investment consultants and an actuarial consultant aid the Joint Pension Board in its responsibilities.
