A Western professor has been suspended following his arrest as part of an ongoing Internet luring investigation.
On Monday, July 15, the London Police Cyber Crime Unit executed a search warrant at the London residence of Graham Wagner, 59, a Physiology and Pharmacology professor in the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. The warrant, part of an Internet luring investigation launched July 12, resulted in the seizure a .22-calibre Smith and Wesson handgun, two shotguns, .22-calibre rifle and small quantity of marijuana. The firearms were legally owned by the accused.
As a result, Wagner has been charged with two counts of telecommunication with a person under or believed under 16 years and two counts of telecommunication with a person under or believed under 18 years for specific criminal offences as well as charges related to firearm storage and drug possession.
Wagner, who has taught at Western since 1990, has been suspended pending a review of the matter.
