Western and the University of Western Ontario Staff Association (UWOSA) have reached a tentative agreement. UWOSA represents almost 1,000 employees who are engaged in administrative and research support roles at the university. The association’s contract expired June 30, 2013, and the two sides have held eight days of negotiations discussions.
Western believes the agreement is both reasonable and responsible, particularly in light of the current provincial fiscal environment.
Details of the agreement will not be released until after it has been ratified by both the union members and the university’s Board of Governors. A ratification vote by UWOSA members is scheduled for Thursday and Friday, Aug. 29-30.
