Harper awarded Suppes Prize in Philosophy of Science
Western professor emeritus William Harper has been named the winner of the 2014 Patrick Suppes Prize in Philosophy of Science, the American Philosophical Society announced.
Van de Peer to explore bioinformatics in seminar
Yves van de Peer explores the newest biological frontier at its intersection with computer science, statistics, mathematics and engineering to create bioinformatics as part of a Department of Biology-sponsored lecture. The Western Bioinformatics adjunct professor will deliver his special seminar, Bioinformatics in the post-genomic era: New approaches to analyze complex genomes, at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 3, in Chemistry Building, Room 9.
