Kevin Wamsley, Health Sciences associate dean (programs), has been named academic vice-president and provost of St. Francis Xavier University. Wamsley, a Kinesiology professor, has held his current administrative position since 2005. He is recognized as one of the world’s leading experts on the history of the Olympic Games.
He begins his position on Aug. 1.
“Kevin is a tremendous leader and an experienced academic and administrator,” said Kent MacDonald, St. Francis Xavier president. “He is well positioned to champion excellence and innovation in scholarship at StFX. His vast experience will be a valuable asset as we move forward in our mission with a recommitment to our academic purpose.”
