Western officials are seeking opinions regarding the content within and implementation of the university’s Code of Student Conduct, as part of a periodic review process mandated by the Board of Governors.
The Code of Student Conduct defines the standards of conduct expected of Western students and sets out the disciplinary procedures for the university to follow. The Board reviews the code every five years.
Chaired by Western Law Dean Iain Scott, an ad hoc committee has been formed to oversee the review. Written and/or oral submissions from interested individuals – both from within and outside the university community – should be addressed to Dean Iain Scott, Code of Student Conduct Review Committee, University Secretariat, Room 4101 Stevenson Hall, or to iain.scott@uwo.ca. Individuals wishing to meet with the committee should indicate so in their written submissions.
Deadline for submissions is Oct. 7.
The review committee’s report, including any recommended revisions to the code, will be submitted to the Board in early 2017.
