Western grew exponentially in just a matter of days as the university welcomed approximately 31,000 students to campus as the 2019 Fall Term begins.
It was a busy long weekend for hundreds of upper-year student volunteers who welcomed 5,300 first-year students to campus by helping them get to know their new home, prepare for academic life, and highlight how to stay healthy and safe.
Thousands filled TD Stadium Monday night to watch the Western Mustangs defeat the Queen Golden Gaels 40-23 to move to 2-0 on the young season. It was the 24th consecutive regular season win for the Mustangs and they run towards another Yates Cup title and a return to the Vanier Cup for a third straight season.
Numerous events for all members of the campus community highlight the week, including OWeek opening ceremonies on Tuesday, One Love speaker series on Wednesday, a Welcome Back to Campus social on Thursday, and many other events large and small across campus.
Classes officially start Thursday.
