Equity and Human Rights Services is still looking for volunteers to participate in focus groups Feb. 23-27, as part of The University of Western Ontario’s Employment Systems Review (ESR).
Through the participation of faculty and staff in the ongoing employment equity survey, a workforce analysis has revealed gaps in the representation of the designated groups (women, Aboriginal persons, persons with disabilities and members of visible minorities) within specific occupational groups at Western.
Western is now undertaking a review of its formal and informal employment policies and practices in order to eliminate systemic, actual or potential barriers to the way Western recruits, hires, develops, promotes and accommodates its staff and faculty members.
You do not need to be a member of a designated group in order to participate. Any faculty or staff member who has ideas or wishes to share experiences that will contribute to the goal of attracting and nurturing the best talent and ensuring the full participation of every member of our community is invited to contribute.
The focus groups will be facilitated by external Employment Equity consultants and last approximately two hours.
To volunteer to join a focus group or to participate in an interview, e-mail equity@uwo.ca or call 519-661-2111 ext. 83334.
