A period of cold wind chills is expected in the next 24 hours in London and the surrounding region. Bitterly cold arctic air will return tonight in the wake of a sharp arctic cold front. Stiff northwesterly winds, combining with cold, possibly record-setting low temperatures, will result in extreme wind chills of minus-40 to minus-30 overnight and Monday morning.
Western community members are encouraged to dress appropriately and exercise caution as exposed skin may freeze in as little as 10 minutes. Wind chills will slowly improve Monday as temperatures moderate.
