Reduced city transit service at peak times will continue following rejection by transit workers of the most recent contract proposal.
In a union membership vote yesterday, transit workers rejected the latest contract offer by a wide margin.
London Transit expects regular service to be reduced today by as much as 10 per cent as drivers refuse to work overtime. The reduction amounts to the elimination of about 200 hours of driving.
According to London Transit, “With reduced service, customers should expect; buses to be more crowded, service delays and extended travel time, particularly in peak periods.”
