Brescia University College has launched a new website, part of its next phase of the new brand that was launched by Canada’s premier women’s university in September.
Hundreds of pages of content and images have been created by many members of the Brescia community, spearheaded by a team of five staff members, including website administrator Abeda Manji.
“What we have is a fresh, bold, beautiful, and easy-to-navigate new site. And we are certain that it will attract many prospective students and their parents as well as alumnae,” says Manji.
The site was launched in a preview to students, faculty and staff members before going live today. New features include a bold design that mirrors the visually stimulating publications Brescia has produced this year; new opportunities for all members of the Brescia community to contribute stories and photos; and an expanded news and events presence on the main page.
Sheila Blagrave, Director of Communications, Marketing & External Relations, explained that putting Brescia’s news and events front and centre will ensure everyone who visits the site is immediately connected to stories and events of interest.
“We think that this new News and Events feature will do a number of things for us. It will let everyone know at a glance what is happening on campus,” she says. “You will see the releases we send to the media telling our good news stories, and it will give you a glimpse as to where we are being portrayed in the news.”
Students, alumnae, faculty and staff members are invited to submit photos for posting in Brescia’s Flickr photo gallery, and profiles that will tell the world about the ways they are choosing to lead.
Next steps include creating additional profiles, and launching an Intranet in a few weeks’ time for use by members of the faculty and staff.
