Telephone service at The University of Western Ontario may be disrupted on Saturday, Dec. 19 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. as the university switches service providers.
Information Technology Services is working with Primus on the conversion of Western’s local line service.
The changeover will start at 9 a.m., with completion by 5 p.m. Western’s main number, 519-661-2111 will be the first number moved, followed by all remaining university Direct-in-Dial telephone numbers.
Inbound calling may be impacted for short and intermittent periods over the course of the day. The change is not anticipated to affect outbound or long-distance calling.
Calls for 911 emergency services will be directly connected to Campus Community Police Services and will not be impacted by the change.
