WEDNESDAY 9 a.m.: Restrictions on water use by London residents have been lifted with the completion of repairs on the city’s water supply line from Lake Huron.
Voluntary restrictions on water use went into effect with a waterline break Monday about 2 a.m. The 47-kilometre pipeline from near Grand Bend to London broke for undetermined reasons near Mount Carmel in Huron County.
City officials said London’s reservoirs had dropped to about half by the time service was restored.
The call for elimination of non-essential water use resulted in a 10-per-cent drop in water use.
