University of Western Law Dean Ian Holloway, together with students, alumni and friends, rang the morning bell today to open the Toronto Stock Exchange in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the school’s founding.
In the years since 1959, Western has grown into one of Canada’s leading law schools, with a base of more than 6,000 alumni who occupy positions of leadership that span the globe. Western enjoys a particular reputation for leadership in the area of business law in the global environment.

The anniversary celebration will continue this evening at Toronto’s Fairmont Royal York, which will be Western Law’s largest alumni event in its 50 years.
Holloway will be joined by Western President Amit Chakma and the Ontario Attorney General in bringing greetings to alumni, faculty, past deans, staff and students.
