A series of presentations for Western staff and faculty continues today with the “Effective Parenting Strategies for School Age Children” as part of the Wellness Series.
These presentations are sponsored by Western Wellness and Western’s Employee Assistance Program Committee.
No registration is required. The talk begins at noon in University Community Centre Room 41.
This presentation will speak about tested parenting strategies that assist in getting your child’s attention without yelling; encouraging your child’s natural gifts and talents; helping your child to learn and think for him/herself; and using discipline for learning and self esteem. Reduce parent stress and enjoy your children more.
Mark your calendar for the next session on June 23 on “Parenting Teens.”
Parenting adolescents present special challenges for parents (and teens) and requires a shift in your skills. This presentation will explore developmental changes, your new role, communication strategies, safety concerns and discipline.
Feel free to bring your lunch and refreshment.
