Auditions will be held in the Don Wright Faculty of Music Sept. 8-11 for those interested in joining large ensembles for the academic year.
Participating in large ensembles is required for music majors, however interested students from other faculties are invited to audition. Priority will be given to music students.
Any non-music student who plays the horn, oboe, bassoon or viola is encouraged to audition and openings are determined by instrumentation requirements. Those unable to be placed in an ensemble will be informed of local community groups to contact.
Instrumental ensembles rehearse twice weekly from 3:30-5:30 p.m. The symphonic band and orchestra rehearse Tuesday and Thursday, and the wind ensemble rehearses Monday and Wednesday. Choirs rehearse Monday through Thursday from 3:30-4:30 p.m. or 4:30-5:30 p.m.
The audition sign-up sheets will be posted on a bulletin board on the second floor of the Music Building (turn left off the elevator).
