Three Western Mustang football players were selected in the 2011 Canadian Football League (CFL) draft Sunday afternoon.
Defensive back Craig Butler was the first Mustang selected, drafted in the second round (12th overall) by the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Going in the third round were offensive lineman Brendan Dunn (17th overall) by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and defensive lineman Zander Robinson (22nd overall) by the Toronto Argonauts.
Former Western Mustangs defensive lineman, and current San Diego Chargers player Vaughn Martin, was selected in the fifth round (39th overall) by the Montreal Alouettes. Montreal will retain his rights if he decides to play in the CFL.
