Artist Jamelie Hassan’s text about A Child’s View from Gaza (Show offers ‘A Child’s View,’ Sept. 13) raises many fascinating questions and many compelling connections: between art and politics, between indigenous struggles in this country and in Palestine.
Not everyone will agree with where she is coming from, which is pretty normal. We all have different journeys.
Whatever our own views may be, the interesting challenge is simply to keep an open mind and experience these artworks from the perspective of children whose visions are too often ignored.
I encourage everyone to make time to see the exhibit, which will be at different community venues around London until Oct. 12 including Althouse Faculty of Education on Oct. 1-2.
