Western University announced the grand total of its 2013 campus-wide fundraising campaign benefiting the United Way of London & Middlesex Wednesday. The campaign raised $785,386, the largest donation ever made to the United Way of London and Middlesex, breaking the previous record of $746,101 set by Western’s 2012 campaign.
Western President Amit Chakma and Andrew Lockie, United Way of London & Middlesex chief executive officer, thanked the 100 volunteers and 1,300 students, faculty and staff who donated and highlighted the many ways United Way helps people in the London Middlesex region.
“Western’s engagement in the community is central to our mission as a university,” Chakma said. “The United Way supports our community with the widest spectrum of the services for those most in need and Western is proud to support their vital work in our region.”
