All you have to do is count the number of degrees hanging up at Neil and Glenda Murray’s home and you’ll see Western is something of a tradition in the family.
When Kimberly Murray, their youngest, graduated in June with a Bachelor of Education, she completed the circle, becoming the fifth – of five – Murray siblings to earn a Western degree.
The whole Murray gang gathered in Stratford earlier this summer, coming from China, Alberta and southwestern Ontario, to celebrate Kimberly’s graduation and birthday, as well as older brother Bradley’s wedding the following weekend.
Pictured here, left to right, are the Murray children at their Stratford reunion, holding their Western degrees, including Heather Murray, BScN’11, of London Health Sciences Centre’s Victoria Hospital; Leanne (Murray) Walkom, BA’09 (King’s University College), a Grade 5 teacher in Calgary, Alta.; Amanda Murray, BA’06 (Honours Specialization in French Language and Literature), a Grade 4 French Immersion teacher with the Toronto District School Board; Bradley Murray, BEd’11, a Grade 2 teacher in China at an international school; and Kimberly Murray, BEd’15, a teacher in Mexico.
