The Western community is mourning the death of Zohaib Jailani, 19, a Social Science student from Brampton, Ont. who died Friday, June 29, in Toronto.
Zohaib was entering his third year of studies within the Faculty of Social Science, pursuing a degree in Media, Information and Technoculture with an honours specialization in Political Science. A funeral was held in Brampton on July 3.
Western Campus Community Police Service confirmed Zohaib was a pedestrian when he was struck by a motor vehicle and died as a result of his injuries. A police investigation involving the driver of the vehicle is ongoing.
Western will lower the flag on University College in Zohaib’s honour on July 6.
