The Western Mustangs football team has begun its quest to return for a third-straight Vanier Cup with two-a-day practices at TD Stadium, leading up to its season opener this Sunday.
The back-to-back Yates Cup champions open up on the road against the Laurier Golden Hawks before returning for their home opener on Labour Day, Sept. 2, against Queen’s. It will also be a return for the Golden Gaels new head coach Steve Snyder, who spent the past four seasons as the offensive coordinator for Mustangs.
Western’s other home games this season include match-ups against Carleton (Sept. 14), Waterloo (Oct. 5) and Ottawa (Oct. 19, Homecoming).
Tickets for all home games are now on sale.
