Starting Sept. 1, Western staff and faculty members have access to Morneau Shepell services as the new provider for the university’s Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP). The program offers confidential, no-cost counselling and work-life supports to all employees, including their spouses and dependent children.
The Toronto-based Morneau Shepell was chosen after a procurement-led process that included consultations with a cross-campus committee.
EFAP offers short-term professional counselling (including availability 24/7/365 by phone, videoconference or secure chat through the app). Employees can also gain access to nutritional counselling, career counselling, legal support, health coaching, as well as child and eldercare resources.
The program also offers online programs to help with career challenges, managing stress, navigating finances, and more.
Staff and faculty can learn more about various supports through the WorkHealthLife.com website (in the search bar, type ‘Western University’), where they can also find access to hundreds of articles, tools and resources. They can also search for and download the My EAP app for Apple, Android and Blackberry or call phone 1-844-880-9142.
Employees with other questions about the EFAP can contact Western Human Resources at hrhelp@uwo.ca or 519-661-2194.
