Read. Watch. Listen. introduces you to the personal side of our faculty, staff and alumni. Participants are asked to answer three simple questions about their reading, viewing and listening habits – what one book or newspaper/magazine article is grabbing your attention; what one movie or television show has caught your eye; and what album/song, podcast or radio show are you lending an ear to.

Read.
American Gods by Neil Gaiman. After owning this book for at least three years and always hearing great things about Neil Gaiman’s writing, I finally dedicated a week this summer to reading it. With the threat of an oncoming storm, American Gods delves into a slow and suspenseful road trip through the United States featuring a breadth of gods, mythical creatures, and other figures of worship and popular imagination. Gaiman makes even the mundane of Middle America both magical and menacing.
Watch.
Good Omens. I may have bought an Amazon Prime subscription just to watch this show. It was well worth it. Based on the book by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman and starring David Tennant and Michael Sheen, this limited series is a delightful romp through a celestial conflict between Heaven and Hell. If you’re interested in an apocalyptic story of divine proportions with spectacular production design, writing, and acting, I highly recommend it.
Listen.
Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend. The title kind of says it all. Conan O’Brien interviews a variety of celebrity guests, including Bob Newhart, Michelle Obama, and Lin Manuel Miranda, with the premise of making friends with people who aren’t his employees. Conan’s interview style translates perfectly from television to “radio” (as he refers to it) and he remains one of the funniest late-night – and now podcast – hosts out there.
