The University of Western Ontario Student Health Services is
preparing for a possible pandemic of the human swine influenza.

The University Community Centre (UCC) is beginning its summer hours
on Friday, May 1.

The Arthur Labatt Family School of Nursing and Iota Omicron Chapter
of Sigma Theta Tau International will hold its 22nd Annual Research
Conference on Friday, May 1 at the Lamplighter Inn and Conference
Centre.

Hoping to generate population renewal, boost economies, fill labour
needs, and slow population decline, researchers and community
leaders across Ontario are gearing up to conduct policy- and
practice-related research on how best to promote welcoming and
sustainable communities in small- and medium-sized cities and towns
across the province.

The flag will be at half-mast Tuesday, April 28 for Workers’
Memorial Day as The University of Western Ontario remembers those
who were killed or injured in the workplace.

University of Western Ontario Mustang Vaughn Martin says “it feels
good to be drafted” by the San Diego Chargers.

A 37-year-old father of six and student from the Faculty of
Education at The University of Western Ontario has died in
Nicaragua. Darren Davis, of Mount Pleasant, Ontario drowned April
22 while in that country on a Western service-learning experience.

A Western graduate who was an expert witness in a complex U.S.
legal case involving water contamination alleged to have caused
cancer in children – a situation portrayed in the 1998 movie Civil
Action – will speak at Western on May 1.
