Peggy Bugler, administrative assistant to the Associate Vice-President (Financial Services) died Wednesday, Oct. 20. A long-time Western employee (33 years), Bugler played a major role in the ongoing success of the university and touched the lives of countless students, staff and faculty.
Bugler is survived by her daughter Roxanne and the more than 50 foster daughters she mentored over the years.
The flag will be at half-mast Monday, Oct. 25 until 3 p.m. for Bugler.
Visitation service for Bugler, 57, will be held at Westview Funeral Chapel, (709 Wonderland Rd. N) Saturday, Oct. 23 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 24 from 2 to 4 p.m. Funeral service, also at Westview, will be held Monday, Oct. 25 at 3 p.m.
A message on the UWOSA website states: “Peggy had not only opened her house and family to strangers in a time of need, but opened her heart and taught so many that we are all worthy of love. Her outgoing, friendly and humorous nature made Peggy a pure delight to all who knew her.”
In 2005, Bugler was honored with the Foster Family of the Year Award from the Foster Parent Association of London and Middlesex, part of the Children’s Aid Society (CAS) of London and Middlesex, and in 2008 was profiled in Western News for her continuing volunteer work in the community.
