Becca Carroll, assistant director of leadership, learning and programs with the Division of Housing and Ancillary Services at The University of Western Ontario, has been named dean of students at Wilfrid Laurier University, Brantford campus, effective July 1.
A long-time employee of housing with 15 years of experience in various leadership positions, Carroll has been instrumental in designing and delivering student-engagement initiatives, such as Rez Rally, the Live Burn and residence staff and soph training.
“Becca has had a far-reaching impact during her time on campus. The students at Western are lucky to have benefitted from her leadership and we wholeheartedly support this wonderful opportunity. We wish her well and she will be missed by her Western friends and family” says Susan Grindrod, associate vice-president of Housing and Ancillary Services.
Carroll earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Western and a master’s degree in leadership and training from Royal Roads University. Within the Western community, she has led Alternative Spring Break trips to Peru, Winnipeg and Florida, and has been a contributing member of the Orientation Planning Committee. Carroll has actively volunteered with a number of community groups, such as Hope’s Garden, the Old East Village BIA and Musical Theatre Productions.
