Supporters of Western professor Tarek Loubani and York University professor John Greyson will host a peaceful rally at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24 in Victoria Park, London, in support of the pair’s release from an Egyptian prison.
On Friday, Aug. 16, Loubani and Greyson were arrested in Cairo while traveling through Egypt to the Gaza Strip. More than a month later, the Canadians remain in an Egyptian prison. Egyptian authorities have given no reason for their continuing detention. On Monday, Sept. 16, the men declared a hunger strike.
