Hundreds of student-athletes and their supporters gathered to recognize this year’s athletic achievements at the Mustangs Awards Celebration in Alumni Hall.
The event on April 2 celebrated the success of Western Mustangs teams, coaches and individuals throughout the year. More than 750 people attended the ceremony and reception.
From Mustangs MVPs to graduating rings – awarded to those who have played for a varsity team for at least three years and are graduating from Western – to the coveted purple blankets for student-athletes who achieved “superior distinction” while representing Western provincially or nationally, dozens of awards are handed out at the annual event.
This year’s Western Mustangs teams have dominated, with gold and silver medals at the Ontario University Athletics finals and multiple national titles.
