1:45 p.m. – Reports from the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority indicate the Medway Creek is still rising and pumping water into the Thames River. Water levels on campus are however expected to hold at its current level to within one and two inches. Consequently, action taken thus far by university officials in regards to parking on campus will be maintained throughout Thursday evening. Therefore, the Medway and Talbot lots, as well as the east end of the Chemistry lot, are to be avoided due to flooding. Western continues to monitor the situation.

Vehicles that have crossed the police caution tape at the back four rows of Chemistry are advised to move their vehicles immediately as the river is rising.
Two parking lots on the campus of The University of Western Ontario remain closed this morning, as heavy rain and melting snow have caused increased water levels in the Thames River and Medway Creek.
Water levels along Medway Creek have overflowed their banks.
The Medway parking lot behind Elgin Hall and the Talbot parking lot were evacuated and closed late Wednesday evening as water levels began to rise quickly. Individuals who would normally park in these lots are advised to park in the Huron Flats lot near TD Waterhouse Stadium, or in the Althouse College parking lot until all flooding danger has passed.
Vehicles that were not moved by their owners last night, were towed to the Huron Flats lot as a precaution to avoid water damage.
The flooding has also necessitated the closing of a number of footpaths across campus, particularly those near the river. Pedestrians are advised to keep a safe distance away from flood waters.
