Zimmerman solo exhibition opens

Six Pair of Pairs: Photos from 2011 to 2015, the debut photo exhibition of Walter Zimmerman, MLS’71, Librarian Emeritus, Western Libraries, runs through April 30 in the Spencer Gallery of The D.B. Weldon Library.

Zimmerman has been taking photos seriously since 1964. When he retired after almost four decades as a librarian at Western, Western News asked him what his plans were. “So, what’s next for Mr. Google? Zimmerman plans to travel with his wife and spend time with family including his young grandchildren. He hopes to volunteer, cultivate his photography and catch up on reading.”

Zimmerman said he is grateful to the Spencer Gallery Committee for the opportunity to display some of his favourite photos, all of them taken during his retirement, and is happy to spend the month of April literally “hanging around” his beloved D.B. Weldon Library. He will appear at the Spencer Gallery from 10 a.m.-noon Sunday, April 10.
