Discoveries abound for Eastaugh
When Edward Eastaugh prepared himself for the more than 4,000
kilometre trek to the Arctic last week, he never imagined it would
take longer to get there than to uncover the buried archeological

Former Western Libraries staff member Grace (Isobel) Veitch died
July 22 at the age of 85. Veitch had 14 years service at the

Former Faculty of Education professor James (Harvey) Hassard died
July 15 at the age of 93. Hassard was an associate professor at
Western for 15 years before retiring in 1982.

The Faculty of Health Sciences has announced the appointment of
Krys Chelchowski as its new Director of Administration. She takes
over the role from Eileen Grainger, who retired earlier this
summer.

University of Western Ontario student Jia Hao (Dentistry 2011) has
won global recognition for her research at the largest ever meeting
of the International Association for Dental Research (IADR) in
Barcelona, Spain earlier this month.
