Former Western president to be honoured
Paul Davenport, one of Western’s longest-serving presidents;
Marlene MacLeish, a renowned expert in space exploration and
education; and Thomas Hockin, International Monetary Fund executive
director, will receive honorary degrees next month when The
University of Western Ontario hosts its 296th Convocation.
Stephenson leads $8M UW campaign
While an $8 million fundraising goal for United Way of London and
Middlesex will be an enormous undertaking, citywide campaign chair
Carol Stephenson says she’s up to the task.

The Biomedical Imaging Research Centre (BIRC), announced today at
The University of Western Ontario, has a very clear vision: to be
the best integrated biomedical imaging research program in Canada
and to rank among the top five in the world.
Bob Gage leaves $1 million to Western
The University of Western Ontario announced today a major bequest
of $1 million from the late Bob “Scoop” Gage that will bring his
total giving to the university to almost $1.2 million. The bequest
from the long-time London Free Press sports reporter will support
current Mustangs and future generations of Western
student-athletes.
