Doug Burgoyne’s successful pitch on Dragon’s Den not only provided the investment his moving business needed, it also demonstrated environmentally friendly products can be convenient and affordable. As part of the Richard Ivey School of Business’ 2011 Corporate Social Responsibility Day, the president and founder of Frogbox will share the lessons of his journey at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 1 in Ivey Room 1R40, Main Floor.
Frogbox is a green moving company that provides environmentally friendly alternatives for traditional moving boxes. After his appearance on Dragon’s Den in the summer of 2010, when the company received investments from two venture capitalists, each successive month has become the company’s best. Growth has exploded with a new franchise model that has helped ease growing pains. Recently, Frogbox was introduced into the London area with a new franchise owned by Peter Kornmuller.
Burgoyne’s presentation will be one feature of Ivey’s 2011 Corporate Social Responsibility Day. MBA students will be working with ReForest London in the morning to plant trees and create one-minute video presentations about aspects of community action and involvement. The morning’s activities will take place at the Murray Marr planting site near the City of London’s Exeter Road Operations Centre.
